ST BRIGIDS MINOR COMMITTEE NOTES WEEK ENDING MARCH 30th 2014

Minors: The Minor team recorded its
second league victory in as many games following a comprehensive victory away
to St. Croans in Enfield on Sunday last. Final scoreline: St Brigid’s 3-14, St.
Croan’s 0-9. Team and scorers: Shane Mannion, Conor McNiece, Brian Stack, Alan
Daly (1-0), Martin Nolan, Conor Murray, Ciaran Walsh, Conal O’Brien, Eamon
Cunnane (1-1), Robbie Fallon (0-3), Luke Carty (0-2), John Cunningham (0-1),
Jack McDonnell (0-4), Conor Gleeson (1-3), Conor Quinn. Subs used: Cormac
McDonnell, Ross Flanagan, Paul Daly, Eoin Gleeson, Mark Carson.

U-16s: The U-16s had their second league outing on
Wednesday evening of last week in Kiltoom against St. Dominic’s and
narrowly prevailed on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-10. There were a number of
changes to the starting team and all the players who came in made a good
impression. Dominic’s came to Kiltoom looking for a win and battled hard all
evening. They got some brilliant scores and worked well as a team. However, St.
Brigid’s are coming together as a good team and the squad is starting to look
very good. In the second half, the introduction of Donnchadh Gately and Tommie
Glynn really freshened things up when it was needed. At times, Brigid’s passing
into the forwards meant the work rate was outstanding.  Jimmy Curley and
Cian McBrearty were outstanding in midfield and again the backs all performed
very well in particular Darren Carroll while Seamus Smith and Colin Daly were
the best of the forwards. Team: Danny Sugrue, Keelan Connor, Damon Daly, Eoin
Minagh John Leonard, Darren Carroll, Gavin Byrne, Jimmy Curley, Kealon Byrne,
Cian McBrearty, Eddie Nolan, Shane Furey, Kealon Byrne, Colin Daly, Brian
Derwin, Seamus Smith  Subs: Chris Killian, Cathal Sweeney, Ronan Campbell,
Donnchadh Gately, Eoin Egan, Tommie Glynn.

Cúl Camps:Applications are invited from third level students,
who have experience in coaching underage players, to apply for coaching
positions on Kellogg’s GAA Football and Hurling Cúl Camps in the county this
summer. Students should forward CV with letter of application and details of
experience to Roscommon GAA Games Manager Willie Hegarty by email
willie.hegarty.gm.roscommon@gaa.ie or by post to Willie Hegarty, Roscommon GAA Offices, Racecourse
