St. Brigid’s GAA Handball Club Notes week ending 30th March 2014

Emerald Masters Doubles 40 X 20 All Ireland Final.

Hard luck to Ger Walsh and Dermott Doolin who failed to
get over their old rivals, Antrim’s Anthony Caddell and Thomas Maguire in the
Emerald Masters Doubles final played in Bawn, Co. Monaghan last Saturday.
Unfortunately, once again an injury to Doolin had a major bearing on the
result. With Roscommon leading the first and playing the better handball Dermot
went over on his ankle. Coupled with a long-standing hip problem this left him
a virtual spectator for the remainder of the match and while Ger battled
valiantly, it really was mission impossible trying to play two against one.
Antrim won 21-17, 21-9. Well done to both players on getting to the final.
