4 St. Brigid's Players named in Team of the year!!!!


The players selected for this year’s AIB GAA Club Players Awards have been announced.

In football, after winning Connacht and then coming so close in the All-Ireland final, St Brigid’s are also well represented with Brian Stack, Pearse Frost and Ruaidhrí Fallon bolstering the defence and livewire Ben O’Carroll in a star-studded attack.

The players were honoured at a special function at Croke Park last Friday, presented with their awards by Uachtarán CLG Jarlath Burns.

Also announced on the night was the overall AIB GAA Club Footballer of the Year. St Brigid’s star forward Ben O’Carroll, was nominated for the football prize.

One Good Club

St. Brigids have been chosen as one of 22 GAA clubs in Ireland to take part in a Lidl and Jigsaw initiative called 'ONE GOOD CLUB'.

The programme will run for 10 weeks starting on March 18th and every fortnight a different theme of Jigsaw's '5 a day for your Mental Health' is featured.

It's aim is to raise awareness and improve understanding of mental health while emprowering clubs to positively affect their members and community.

Keep an eye on our social media over the next 10 weeks to see how you can participate, assist, enjoy and promote our One Good Club.

Dinner Dance

Huge thanks to all who supported the Dinner Dance last Saturday night.

Special thanks to the Hodson Bay Hotel who sponsored the Dinner Dance and put on a great show, and to Sandra Griselain and Maria Derwin who put in huge work organising. Thanks to our special guest Brian Carroll for great words of encouragement.

The presentation of medals to our U20 County Champions, Senior County, Connaught Champions & All Ireland Finalists took place on the night as will the presentation of players of the year for Ladies and Men (Senior, Intermediate & Junior). Full press release to issue separate.

Gaelic Football Workshop

Huge thanks to Michael Gerard Doherty for facilitating a brilliant Gaelic Football Workshop for Nursery to U12 Coaches. Fantastic to have every age group represented this morning from our club.
