U-14s: Well done to the D & M O’Grady Builders sponsored U-14 team who have qualified for the Division 1 Championship Final after defeating Roscommon Gaels on Tuesday of last week in Fuerty. The U-14s put in a real fighting performance to overcome a well organised and determined Roscommon Gaels team. This game was tight from beginning to end as both sets of backs and forwards were well prepared. St Brigid’s made a number of changes for this game and the new introductions made a great impact. Eoin Egan and Ruairi Smith put it inspiring performances upfront while Paul McGrath, Eoin Minagh and Pearse Frost were exceptional in defence. Although the Gaels received and converted two penalties, Brigid’s stuck to their task and scored crucial scores when needed. Next up is Clann na nGael in the final. U-10s: The Sheraton Hotel sponsored U-10s had two good wins at home to Padraig Pearses in the Clann na nGael tournament on Monday evening of last week. One of the games in particular revealed the character of the players who pulled back an eight point deficit at half-time to record a two point win. The squad now plays Clann na nGael in the next round on Thursday next, September 5th, in Johnstown while challenge games are fixed for next weekend against Annaghdown in Kiltoom. On Saturday last, the U-10 squad had an enjoyable day out when they undertook a tour of Croke Park and the museum, which includes a St Brigid’s All-Ireland Champions display.

U-8s: The O’Rourke Fireplace sponsored U-8s had a good work out last week against a visiting St Dominics squad.
