U-8s: Our U-8s participated in their second ‘Go Games’ blitz hosted this time by Clann na nGael on Saturday last. The football played was in keeping with the weather. We had two teams taking part and it was great to see their continued growth in confidence on the ball. With some great movements, there was an exhibition of Senan Kilbride-style point taking. The boys and parents should be proud of the boys with regard to the respect shown to the referees on the day. Clann na nGael were very organised in hosting the blitz and we would like to thank them for the smooth running of the blitz. It is great to see so many boys turning up for these blitzes and we hope they continue with training on Wednesday evenings at 7pm and Saturday afternoons at 12pm. In the second half, Ballybay started well with points from Shane Cunnane, Pearse Frost and Billy McDonnell, leaving the score at 4-11 to no score.  Jack Scouler kicked a brilliant point from a difficult angle to add to Ballybay’s score. The subs made a big difference with Jason Deering,  Matthew Cochrane, Cathal O’Grady, Daniel McDermott, Patrick O’Boyle, Jack Gartland, Jack Scouler and Cian Daly all coming on. Curraghboy NS team 2013

Cumann na mBunscol Primary Schools: Hard luck to the Curraghboy National School team who lost out in the two teacher county semi-final to an older and physically much bigger Grange NS side on a scoreline of 9-4 to 5-6. From the outset, the odds were stacked against Curraghboy who had only one boy in 6th class in comparison to their opponents who had five. Despite their loss, this was a great campaign for the Curraghboy players and if they keep progressing, a county title is surely only around the corner. Curraghboy NS team: Carl Doran (capt.), Aaron Dolan, Adam Samuels, Cormac Canny (3-2), Ruairdhí Fallon (2-3), Diarmuid Glynn (0-1), Luke Powell. Subs: Michael Butler, Daniel Butler.
