St Brigid's U-14s secure passage to represent Roscommon in All-Ireland Féile in Derry

U-14s Roscommon Féile Final: Final scoreline - St Brigid’s 3-15, Oran 1-13. Hearty congratulations to the U-14 squad on a hard fought and impressive eight point win over Oran in a very competitive County Féile final in Ballyforan on Thursday last. Up against an Oran side which overcame Clann na nGael in the semi-final, St Brigid’s started the brighter with some early scores with the aid of the wind in the first half. However, despite facing into a breeze, Oran began to dominate in vital areas of the field and clawed their way back into the game. Courtesy of some very impressive team work and scoring, Oran took a one point lead going into half- time. The challenge was now set for St Brigid’s, a point down and facing into the wind after the break.  But they responded magnificently, taking hold of proceedings early on thanks in part to great displays in the middle from Niall Murray and Eoin Egan. Up front, Tom O’Carroll and Brian Derwin were outstanding, getting vital scores at important times while there were also some huge performances in defence from Tommy Glynn, Billy McDonnell and Eoin Minagh. It was another great team performance as all the substitutes who were introduced gave much needed energy and momentum to push St Brigid's over the line. Well done to the whole squad and management who now have the great honour of representing Roscommon in the All-Ireland Féile competition which takes place in Derry in JuneSquad: Daniel Sugrue, Keelan Connor, Eoin Minagh, Gary Daly, Pearse Frost, Billy McDonnell, Tommie Glynn, Eoin Egan, Niall Murray, Ian O’Rourke, Donnchadh Gately, Ciaran Sugrue, Liam Martin, Brian Derwin, Tom O’Carroll.
