Minors: The minor team got two good wins under their belt in the space of two days when they defeated Oran and Padraig Pearses respectively. On Sunday, April 7th, they overcame Oran with five points to spare on a scoreline of 3-12 to 3-7 while on Tuesday, April 9th, they defeated Padraig Pearses by a single point, 1-11 to 1-10. Team v Oran: Shane Mannion, Ciaran Walshe, Keith Dolan, Jason Nestor, Robbie Fallon, Brian Stack, Alan Daly, Mark Daly, Eamon Cunnane, Martin Nolan, John Cunningham, Killian O’Donnell, Jack McDonnell, Conor Gleeson, Conor Quinn. Subs. Luke Carty (0-1) for Conor Quinn; Mark Carson for Jack McDonnell; Eoin Gleeson, Diarmuid Colgan, Ross Flanagan, Conor McNiece, Cormac McDonnell.

U-16s: St Brigid’s U-16s made it four league wins on the trot when they defeated St Dominics in Knockcroghery on Sunday last on a scoreline of 4-14 to 1-2. The unbeaten run is a big confidence booster ahead of the squad’s first championship game away to Oran this Thursday, April 18th at 7pm.

U-14s Féile: Another great performance by our U-14 team who defeated St. Aidans last Saturday in Ballyforan. Final score - St. Brigid’s 3-12, St. Aidan’s 1-6. This was a very challenging game and weather conditions were tough on the day. In the first half, both teams made hard work of it. St Brigid’s defence did well adapting to St. Aidan’s two man full-forward line, managing successfully to contain their attack. Up front, the resilience of the St. Aidans defence made life difficult for our forwards all day. As the game progressed, St Brigid’s settled and started to take hold of the game, which lead to some great scores. This was another great squad performance as the subs introduced gave St Brigid's the lift they needed. Next game to be confirmed - a group text will be sent notifying players of this week’s schedule. Team: Daniel Sugrue, Keelan Connor, Eoin Minagh, Gary Daly, Pearse Frost, Billy McDonnell, Tommie Glynn, Cian McBrearty, Niall Murray, Eoin Egan, Donnchadh Gately, Ciaran Sugrue, Iain O'Rouke, Brian Derwin, Seamus Smith. Subs: Tom O'Carroll, Liam Martin, John Leonard, Adam Murtagh, Cathal Sweeney, Matthew Cochrane, Cian Daly, Mark Haran, Ronan Campbell, Jack Gartland, Paul McGrath, Cathal O'Grady, Ruáiri Smith.

U-12s: The U-12s long trip to Monivea in the Easyfix tournament on Tuesday of last week was a successful one when they had a convincing victory against the home team. Another Easyfix game is scheduled for this week and players will be notified of the details through their coaches. St Brigid’s U-12s also played host to Salthill/Knocknacarra on Sunday last for a series of challenge games which proved beneficial for coaches and players. A half-day coaching camp will take place this Saturday, April 20th for the U-12s. Players will be notified with details of the camps through their coaches.

U-10s: A very successful half-day coaching camp for the U-10s took place last Saturday at the St Brigid’s complex. Thanks to all who gave of their time and for the presence of senior players Peter Domican and Mark O’Carroll who made it a special day for the players. Challenge games are currently being organised and players will be notified through their coaches.

Training: Training continues for all grades from U-8s to Minor. Players will be notified of any changes to normal training times.

Mouthguards: The majority of players are now wearing their mouthguards. However, there are some players forgetting to bring them to training. It is compulsory for all children up to and including minors to wear mouthguards. Those who don’t, even if it’s a case of forgetting them, will not be covered under the GAA Player Injury Scheme.
