County 40×20 Junior ‘B’ Singles
St. Coman’s Brendan McDonagh won the County Roscommon Junior ‘B’ singles title on the same bill, when he defeated Curraghboy’s Padraig Coyle in two straight games. Coyle is a tremendously determined competitor and pushed McDonagh hard, but Brendan’s better control always kept him ahead. Brendan had beaten Coyle’s clubmate Donal O’Connor 21-13, 21-20 in the semi-final in Curraghboy last Tuesday.
County 40×20 Junior ‘C’ Singles (Sunday January 18th)
Curraghboy’s Cathal McHugh is better known for his footballing prowess with St. Brigid’s, but he showed some fine skill with the smaller ball when defeating Kilglass’s John Coggeran 21-5, 17-21, 21-5 in the County Roscommon Junior ‘C’ singles final last Sunday.
