County Final Time

As
you all probably know by now it is County Final time once again and this year
is a very special occasion for our club as not only do our Senior men represent
us in the County Final for the fifth year in a row, but also our Minor boys
will also represent us in the County Final when they take on Clan na nGael at
1.30pm in the Hyde. Our senior men are hoping to win their fifth county title
in a row and their eighth county title in the last ten years. The minor team
are hoping to win the county title for the first time since 2005. County Final
day is the culmination of a huge amount of hard work, determination and
commitment by players and management team. And so St. Brigid’s once again askes
everyone to please show your support for this hard work and get your club
colours up and flying high and please if possible come early to the Hyde so
that you can support both our minor and senior teams in this amazing occasion.

Thank you

We
would like to thank everyone for attending the hugely successful fundraising
lunch in the Hodson Bay Hotel on Sunday last. It was a terrific day and as
always was superbly supported by the local community. We would especially like
to thank the Hodson Bay Hotel for sponsoring this lunch and of course the
companies which donated prizes for the raffle.

Senior Ladies

Connacht
Semi-Final

St.
Brigid’s 1-8, Kilkerrin/Clonberne 2-20.

Our Hamrock’s
sponsored senior ladies travelled to Ballinlough on Saturday last to take on
Galway champions Kilkerrin/Clonberne in the senior ladies Connacht semi-final.
However it wasn’t to be our day with the Galway champions proving to be a
dominant force for the majority of the game.

Hard
luck to our senior ladies and their management team.  We would like to thank you for all your hard
work and commitment throughout the pass year and relate how proud we are of
this team for coming back once again and winning their eighth county title out
of the last ten. Thanks for giving us another great year.

The
senior ladies would also like to thank everyone that help out throughout the
year-the club executive, the ladies committee and its members, the water girls,
the physios-Pat Regan and Darren Owens, coaches-John O’Connor, Anthony Jinks,
Tom and Brian Lennon. A special mention to Donie Hamrock for his continuous
support and sponsorship and of course a thanks to all the backroom team that
helped in any way possible.

The
senior ladies would also like to thank their management team of Laura Harrison,
Aisling Dooley and Tomas Beades for the countless hours of training,
preparation and work they did for the team.

For
full match report please see sports section of local papers.

U14 Girls County Semi Final

St.
Brigid’s 1-4 vs St. Croan’s 5-2.

Our
EMC sponsored u14 girls took on St. Croan’s in the county semi-final on Sunday
last in Kiltoom. The final score does not do this game any justice with
Brigid’s missing a number of goal chances and two penalties. However as always
our girls did not give up until the final whistle and battle hard to create as
many scoring chances as possible. Lady luck was just not shining on our side on
Sunday however and St. Croan’s now move forward to the county final.

Well
done to this u14 team they have had an extremely long year and deserve a huge
amount of credit for the time and commitment they have put in all year. They
are a fantastic group of girls that will no doubt be back next year and we are
very proud of these girls for everything that they have achieved this year. A
big thanks to their management team and background team for their hard work all
year also.
