Club Notes 9th May

St. Brigid’s GAA Club notes week ending Sunday May 9th 2021

Return to play: Best wishes to all our adult teams who were permitted to return to outdoor training from last Monday in pods of 15. We also had another fantastic turnout for underage training sessions on our four pitches on Saturday morning last. It is very encouraging to see the large numbers of boys and girls in attendance. Thank you to everybody who contributed to another very successful morning. Thank you too to Sandra and Maria who organised coffees and teas for the parents.

Fixtures update: Delighted to confirm that the rescheduled 2020 Junior A FC Final against Clann na nGael will take place on the weekend of June 25th/26th. The Roscommon GAA Masters Fixture list for the 2021 season, ratified on Friday evening, also confirmed the fixtures for the league competitions, which will be split in Sections A and B. St. Brigid's will have teams competing in the O'Rourke Cup, O'Gara Cup and Division 5. Division 1 and 2 games get underway on June 18th while the Division 5 competition gets underway on June 11th. The top two teams in each section will qualify for semi-finals with the top team in section A playing second in section B and vice versa. More details to follow and the full fixtures list will be circulated in due course.

County hurling appearance: Well done to Sean Trundle who lined out for the Roscommon hurlers in their opening league game away to Donegal on Sunday. Despite Roscommon’s narrow defeat, Sean put in an impressive display.
