St Brigid’s club notes week ending August 30th 2020

SFC: A dominant first half display lay the foundations for a super SFC quarter-final victory against a game Michael Glavey’s last Sunday in Ballyforan. Eight points up at the break, our lads had to withstand periods of pressure from Glaveys in the second half but a very mature performance ensured an impressive win on a scoreline of 0-19 to 1-8. JFC: Best of luck to the junior men’s team who take on St. Brigids in Ardcarne Park on Saturday evening, September 5th at 5pm.

MFC: At time of going to press, we await confirmation on our exact position regarding the conclusive stages of the competition.

U14s: Hard luck to our U14 boys team who were narrowly defeated last Thursday by Elphin-Ballinameen in a high scoring game.

U12s: Well done to our U11 boys who won their fourth consecutive game this morning in a hard fought encounter against St Dominics. After playing against the breeze and trailing at half time, the lads eventually prevailed by one score. They have now topped the group stage and progress straight to a county final in two weeks time. Squad: Emmet Muldowney, Aaron Walsh, Jamie Doyle, Thomas Carberry, Ruairi Collins, Robert Shannon, Matthew Deehan, Dara O'Callaghan, James Digan, Donnchadh Dwyer, John Morris, Fionn Scally, Bobby Dolan, Eoin Tully, Eoin Carr, Jarlath Mulhern, Peter Walsh, Brian Rourke and Ryan Hughes. Meanwhile, our U12 boys play in a Shield semi-final next Saturday against St. Dominics.

U8s: Well done to our U-8 boys who played their first games of the year on Saturday last against Roscommon Gaels in Kiltoom.

Ladies Notes:

Intermediate: Best of luck to our Specsavers sponsored Intermediate ladies who play St. Ciaran's in the the county semi-final on Sunday, September 6th in Fuerty at 11am.

U16s: Best of luck to our U16 girls who play Oran away in the final on Tuesday, September 1st at They came through a thrilling final last week against St. Barry's in Tarmonbarry at 6.30pm.

U14s: Well done to our U14 girls who have qualified for the Division 1 Final following their convincing semi-final victory over Boyle in Kiltoom this evening. They are away to St. Dominic's in the final this Thursday at 6.30pm.

U12s: Well done to our U12 girls who overcame a spirited Roscommon Gaels side in their championship quarter final on Sunday evening in Kiltoom. Their reward is a semi-final away to the winner of Clann na nGael and St Dominic's next Sunday.

Lotto Draw: Our Lotto draw takes place tonight. Numbers drawn: 3, 7, 14 and 32. There was no jackpot winner and three match 3 winners, receiving €70 each. Winners were Pauline Donovan, Barrymore; Imelda Harrison Fox, Cam and Marian Grehan, Newpark, Kiltoom. Jackpot this coming week is €8,000. The next draw takes place on Sunday night next, September 6th.
