Club Notes 13th June

St. Brigid’s club notes week ending June 13th 2021

League action: Hard luck to our Division 5 men's team who were defeated last Friday evening by Creggs in Fuerty in Round 1 of the league on a scoreline of 4-8 to 2-5. Our other two adult men's teams begin their league campaigns this week. On Saturday evening, our senior team face Boyle at 6pm in their first Division 1 game while our Division 2 team open their account against Kilbride this Friday evening. Throw in time at Kiltoom is 8pm. A reminder that 100 spectators are now permitted to attend games and we are asking patrons to continue to follow the Covid-19 guidelines once they enter our grounds.

Book launch: There was a great turnout for Frankie Dolan's book launch in St. Brigid's on Saturday evening. Lots of great memories shared by Frankie, former playing colleagues and special guest John O'Mahony. John Lynch performed MC duties while Seamus Duke was on sound. It was especially lovely to have the presence of Claire Connelly, wife of the late Conor Connelly. A big thank you to all of our club volunteers who ensured the smooth running of the event.

Ireland's call: Congrats to Brideswell native Darragh Murray who has been selected in the Irish U20 rugby squad for the upcoming 2021 Six Nations Championship in Cardiff. The Six Nations will be played between June 19th and July 13th and Ireland open their account against Scotland this Saturday.
