Wow absolutely blown away by the spectacular fashion show that we had last Thursday night in the Hodson Bay Hotel. It was a superb start to our Oskars fundraisers. There was so much to see from the fabulous exhibitors to all the Spring-Summer fashion on the catwalk. Massive thanks to everyone that attended the show. Huge thanks to all the wonderful shops for providing the fashion and assisting with the models on the night. Many thanks to all the exhibitors for their support. We found some serious hidden talent in our models on the night, well done to each and every one of you, you were amazing. We cannot thank our ticket sellers enough especially the Ladies and Minor committees for the huge effort they made to sell tickets. Thank you to our MC for the night the beautiful Wanda and of course Mr Ireland 2016 Darren King. As always we could not host events like these without the support of our main sponsors The Hodson Bay Hotel, thank you for all your help and assistance, we are never left wanting. And finally of course we always save the best to last, absolutely none of this would have been possible without the tireless work of five great women: Sissy Frost, Fionnuala Hughes, Jean Haran, Yolande Holtkamp and Marie McDonnell.
St. Patrick’s Day
As St. Patrick’s Day is a big day in the sporting calendar the clubhouse bar will be open showing the All Ireland Club Finals and the Ireland vs England rugby game with both TVs going so you don’t miss any of the action. Finger food will be served and we will have entertainment that night from local musicians.
A Night at the Oskars
***Final Call for Actors casting 19th March***
St. Brigid’s GAA Club are doing major improvements of our facilities including installing flood lights on our third pitch, building a weights room and upgrading of our dressing rooms. These enhancements will greatly improve our grounds.
To help towards these investments we are running a fundraising event
“A Night at the Oskars” on Saturday 9th June in the Hodson Bay Hotel.
This involves producing 7 movies of ten-minute duration which will be then screened on the night.
We are now looking for volunteers to take part in this fundraising event.
No acting experience is required, the production company will provide scripts and professional training for everyone.
We are having an information night with the production company on Wednesday 21st February at 9pm in the clubhouse. We are asking anyone interested to come along to find out more.
This is guaranteed to be fun for all involved.
St. Brigid’s GAA Club hope that with your help we can make the St. Brigid’s Oskar’s a huge success.
If you would be interested in getting involved or would like more information please contact: Gerry (086)8103665, Áine (086)3791294.
