St. Brigid's GAA Club Notes 8th December 2013

Ladies Night

A ladies night will be held in St. Brigid's GAA Club on Thursday next 12th December at 8pm for all the ladies of the parishes and their friends. There will be wine and canapés served with fashion tips, nail, teeth, hair and foot care demonstrations. There will also be Christmas floral arrangement classes, cake decorating, scrap booking and make up demonstrations. Admission is free, donations on the night go to local charities. All welcome.


The Belief

A special souvenir book on the story of St Brigid’s historic All-Ireland achievement will be launched by Kevin McStay on Friday next, December 13th in the Hodson Bay Hotel at 8.30pm. 

MC on the night will be RTE Sports Presenter Darragh Maloney and all are very welcome to attend this special occasion. Senior players will be signing copies of this keepsake publication which will be available for purchase at the launch and at selected outlets this week

Titled ‘The Belief’, the 230-page hard-back publication contains 50 interviews with St Brigid’s management, players and key personnel; 600 action and behind the scenes photographs along with all the games from the 2012/2013 campaign.

The Belief also contains photographs of the Andy Merrigan visiting all corners of the parish, from schools, homes, shops, and public houses. This historic book will make a great Christmas stocking-filler!

Strictly Come Dancing Brigid’s’ Style

On Sunday 15th December at 7.30pm in the Hodson Bay Hotel we will be launching Strictly Come Dancing Brigid’s Style. There will be a performance by the 16 couples that are kindly participating in this event, we will also be announcing the couple pairings for the event on 15th February 2014.  Everyone is welcome to attend this launch.


Nursery Programme  

The Nursery Programme for all children from 4 to 7 years continues on Saturday at 11 am in St. Brigids Clubhouse. All new children are welcome to attend.

We are also looking for Transition year students to help out with this programme. If you are interested please contact Kieran on 0879093149.

St Brigid's Minor Committee Notes for week ending Sunday, December 8th 2013


Indoor winter training programme: The programme continues this week for players. Many squads took great value from the speed sessions which took place at AIT last week. A number of squads will again be undertaking speed sessions this week at AIT. Players will be informed of relevant details through their managers or coaches.


Team photographs: The Minor Committee is aiming to put photographs of all under-age winning teams down through the years on the clubhouse wall. Anyone who may be able to help with information on winning teams or may have photographs of relevant teams is asked to contact Minor Committee Chairman Sean Kilbride.


Ladies Committee Notes

Indoor winter training programme:

The underage girl’s indoor winter programme starts on Monday 1st of December for Under 8’s and 10’s from 6.30pm – 7.30pm. The U-14’s indoor training is from 8pm-9pm on Wednesday’s and the U-12’s training is from 8pm-9pm on Thursday’s. The U-16 and Minor girls will start in January.  We are also looking for people to help out with this programme. If you are interested please contact Seamus on 086 0200911.
