Minor Committee Notes week ending Sunday, March 2nd 2014

The U-14 squad put in an excellent performance in a challenge game against a strong Monivea team in Kiltoom on Saturday evening last. In horrendous weather conditions, the team recorded a solid victory against the Galway outfit.

Training continues this week for teams at all grades.

The Minor Committee is once again encouraging all players to register before March 31st in order to be eligible to play for their team. Club Registrar Anne Marie Murtagh can be contacted on (087) 9332954.

Well done to The Marist College senior team and their St Brigid’s contingent who had a comprehensive semi-final victory over Wexford school Good Counsel on Saturday last in Carlow. The win sets them up for a Leinster ‘A title tilt against Dublin’s Coláiste Eoin, who overwhelmed defending champions St Pat’s of Navan in the other semi-final. We wish the Athlone school the very best of luck in the final, which will serve as the curtain raiser to the Dublin v Kildare NFL game in Croke Park next Saturday
