St. Brigid's GAA Club Notes 27th April 2014

For women and men all fitness levels, it consists of Circuit training,Resistance training, Interval training, Military circuits and Endurance training. All newcomers are free on the first night and its 5 euro per session after that, pay as you go. Mondays and Thursday 7-8 pm in St. Brigids Clubhouse. We would like to congratulate the Roscommon Senior team on winning the Division 3 League on Saturday last in Croke Park. 

Good luck

We would like to wish the Roscommon u21's the very best of luck in the All Ireland Final on Saturday next. A special mention to Niall McInerney and Adrian Gleeson. 

Also wishing the Roscommon ladies the best of luck in their final also on Saturday. A special mention to our own Patsy O'Connor and Kieran Kilkenny as part of the management team. 

Club Rossie 

The first of the club Rossie draws takes place on 3rd May. There is still time to get your Club Rossie membership online at or from Helen Leonard or any club executive member. 

Spark plug

Thanks to all who attended the Feile Fundraiser Sparkplug on Weds night last in the Hodson Bay Hotel. 

Zumba Classes

Zumba classes continue this Thursday in the clubhouse for both men and women from 8-9pm. Classes costs €50 for 7 classes. Everyone is welcome to come along.


Handball training is on every Sunday in Curraghboy handball complex and every Friday in St Brigids club Hall. 


8Yrs to 10Yrs - Boys and Girls, 11am to 12 Noon (Curraghboy handball complex) 

11Yrs to 13Yrs - Boys and Girls, 12 Noon to 1pm (Curraghboy handball complex) 

11Yrs to 13Yrs - Boys and Girls, 7 – 8:30 (Fridays only – one wall - St Brigids club Hall) 


Please note that Handball goggles must be worn by all participating. New members always welcome. 

There will be NO handball on Friday 2nd May and Sunday 4th May due to players attending the inaugural One Wall County Championships in Kilglass Gaels on Sunday 4th May 2014.   


Nursery Programme

The nursery programme continues every Saturday at 11am in the clubhouse. New members welcome.

Training continues for all grades from U8s to Senior. Players will be notified of any changes to normal training times. We are always welcoming new members. Training schedules or further information on St. Brigids Ladies GAA contact 086 0876933.

Training for U 14 and U 16 girls continueson Tuesday evening at 7:30 at pitch. Training for U 12 girls continue on Thursday evening at 8 at the clubhouse. Training for U8s & U10s continues on Monday evening at 6.30 at clubhouse.

Minor and Senior Training from 8.30 on Saturday in clubhouse.


Team photographs

The Ladies Committee is aiming to put photographs of all winning Ladies teams down through the years on the clubhouse wall. Anyone who may be able to help with information on winning teams or may have photographs of relevant teams is asked to contact ladies Committee ChairmanTomás Beades.



Minors: Best of luck to the minor team who play Clann na nGael in the Division 1 league final this Thursday, May 1st.

U-16s: The U-16s lost out to Padraig Pearses in the Division 1 league in Woodmount on Sunday last on a scoreline of 3-12 to 1-11.

U-14s: In the league, the U-14s lost narrowly away to Castlerea in a Division 1 game on Bank Holiday Monday and recorded two comprehensive victories in Division 1 and Division 4 matches against visiting Padraig Pearses sides last Thursday.

U-12s: In the first two rounds of the Easyfix league played at home on Friday and Saturday last, the U-12s recorded an aggregate victory and loss against Padraig Pearses and Monivea respectively. The squad is scheduled to play their next game away to Galway team Annaghdown on Friday evening next. Players will be notified of full details during the week.
