O'Rourke Cup

Senior League

St. Brigid's 2-12, Western Gaels 2-5.

Our senior team continued their winning ways with their second win in as many games. Another strong start ensured we lead by seven points at half time.  But Western Gaels came out strong in the second half and it was a much tighter game for most of this half with both sides clocking up two goals apiece. However we finished well with a comfortable seven point cushion.

Team: M. Moran, R. Kelly, R. Stack, J. Grehan, C. McNiece, D. Dolan 0-1, J. Murray, D. Donnelly 0-1, P. Kelly 0-1, J. Cunningham 1-1, C. McHugh 0-6, D. Sheehy, N. Grehan 0-1, S. Kilbride 1-0, D. Cunniffe 0-1.
Subs: E. Cunnane, D. Nestor, A. Gleeson, P. Fuery, J. Gallagher, K. Quinn.

Tansey Cup

Junior A League

St. Brigid's 2-7, St. Michael's 4-4.

In their first league game of the year our junior side unfortunately lost out to St. Michael's in Kiltoom on Saturday last. Despite a good start by us, Michael's soon settled in, and it was a close game the whole way throughout. Despite drawing in normal time a late injury time goal by Michael's meant they went home victorious.

Team: M. Moran, D. Nestor, M. Nolan, K. Dolan, Gunning, M. Grehan, C. Carroll, G. Aherne, E. Cunnane, C. Glesson 0-1, C. McDonnell 0-2, A. McInerney, K. Quinn 1-0, D. Blaine 0-2, J. Cunniffe 1-2.

Subs: K. Kilkenny, C. Quinn, C. McNiece, S. Fuery, J. Nestor.

Minor Boys League

St. Brigid’s 0-8, Padraig Pearses 1-8.

Our minor team were unfortunate to lose out to Padraig Pearses on Saturday evening last in Woodmount.

Team: S. Smith, K. Connor, S. Fuery, E. Minagh, J. Leonard, E. Nolan, G. Byrne, J. Curley, N. Murray, D. Gately, B. Derwin, D. Carroll, C. Daly, E. Egan, K. Byrne.
