U-16 :

Football League Division 1      Round 2

Roscommon Gaels 0-6   V   11-10 St Brigid's

Our under sixteens had an impressive win over a poor Roscommon Gaels
side on a stormy Monday last. Despite failing to score a goal for 20
minutes with the aid of a gale force wind, Brigid’s managed 4 goals in
the first half. At the break Brigid’s made a number of changes and the
players who came in, slotted seamlessly into the team and understood
how they were to play. As the second half progressed the wind died
down and Brigid’s worked extremely hard in defence and midfield to
stop Roscommon plays from developing. Brigid’s made further changes in
this half and all the players that came in also showed great attitudes
and many contributed scores to the final score line. Brigid’s managed
some great scores as a result of great team work and work rate. There
were some really good performances by Seamus Smith, John Leonard,
Niall Murray, Pearse Frost and Cian Daly.

Team: Seamus Smith, Ronan Campbell, Eoin Minagh, Kealan Connor, John
Leonard, Cian McBrearty, Mark Haran, Niall Murray, Billy McDonnell,
Pearse Frost, Donnchadh Gately, Ciaran Sugrue, Ruiari Smith, Eoin
Egan, Paul McGrath. Subs: Cian Daly, Jack Gartland, Tommy Glynn, Liam
Martin, Cathal O'Grady, Ian O'Rourke, Daniel Sugrue, Ciaran Sugrue,
Gary Daly
