Minors: The Minors got their league campaign off to a winning start when they recorded a narrow victory away to Strokestown on Sunday last. This was a very well contested game against tough opponents but St Brigid’s eventually prevailed on a scoreline of 0-15 to 1-10. Team: Shane Mannion, Conor McNiece, Robbie Fallon, Alan Daly, Ciaran Walshe, Brian Stack, Martin Nolan, Eamon Cunnane, George O’Hara, Ryan Jinks, Conor Quinn, Ross Flanagan, Jack McDonnell, Conor Gleeson, John Cunningham. Subs. Niall Ryan for R. Flanagan; E. Gleeson for C. Walshe; M. Carson for Ryan Jinks; Cormac McDonnell; Gavin Byrne; Damon Daly; Darren Carroll.

U-16s: The U-16s had a great start to the league campaign on Thursday last, winning away to Roscommon Gaels on a scoreline of 1-11 to 3-3. St Brigid’s started off the stronger team and led well going into the half time interval. But the Gaels came out fighting in the second half and closed the gap to just one point. Brigid’s backs and midfield performed outstanding all day but when needed for some crucial scores, Brigid’s forwards were there also. The home side fought to the end but Brigid’s showed great strength, composure and belief to see out the game. Team: Danny Sugrue, Keelan Connor, Damon Daly, Tommie Glynn, John Leonard, Darren Carroll, Gavin Byrne, Jimmy Curley, Kealon Byrne, Shane Furey, Donnchadh Gately, Colin Daly, Brian Derwin, Seamus Smith  Subs: Chris Killian, Cathal Sweeney, Ronan Campbell, Ross Nestor, Eoin Minagh, Eddie Nolan.
