Senior Ladies Championship

St. Brigid's 2-14, Kilbride 1-13

Our Hamrock's of Brideswell sponsored ladies team had a narrow victory over Kilbride on Saturday evening last in Kiltoom. Despite taking the lead early in the game Brigid's went in two points down at half time. In a tight second half our ladies just managed to edge out Kilbride thanks to a Shauna Francis goal and well taken points from Aine O'Brien and Claire Grehan.

Team: C.  O'Reilly, E.  Walsh,  C. O'Malley, E. Menton, A. Morris,  S. Finnerty, K. O'Boyle, K. McDonnell, C. Grehan 0-5, R. Callaghan, S.  Byrne, O. Donnelly 1-1, O. McGrane, A. O'Brien 0-5, E. Lydon 0-1.

Subs: S. Francis 1-1.

We would like to wish Michelle Walsh a speedy recovery following an injury she picked up on Saturday.

We would like to wish Rachel Gallagher and all the county u16 girls the best of luck in the All Ireland semi-final against Cavan on Wednesday evening in Ballinamore.

Our U10's had a busy week beginning with the first round of the Tormey's Tournament played in Ballinasloe on Thursday evening last. Unfortunately on the evening both teams were defeated, the 10's played well up to half time with the aid of the breeze and only trailed by a couple of scores however in the second half Ballinasloe finished the stronger to win by a few scores. In the 9's match our lads took a well-deserved lead into half time with the wind advantage, but unfortunately with the home team fighting back strongly we lost by a single point right at the end. Well done to both teams who tried hard and were competitive right up to the end. Thanks to Brian Madden and his mentors for hosting us on the evening.

On Saturday morning we travelled to Johnstown for another round of the Go Games Blitz. We had two teams on the day and played five games in total with opposition made up of teams from Clan na Gael, St Dominics, Padraig Pearses and Roscommon Gaels. A big thank you to Mick Galvin and all his crew for a well organised blitz and refreshments provided afterwards.

Squad that featured in both games,

Jimmy Carney, Killian Curley, Niall Daly, Niall Derwin, Josh Dowling, Daniel Egan, Adam Feeley, David Fox, Jamie Fox, Ewan Joyce, Robert Keenan, Jack Kinahan, Bryan McDermott, Paul McManus, Cormac Meeley, Conor Minagh, Sean Minnock, Brendan Murphy, Thomas Muldoon, Donnchadh O'Reilly, James O'Rourke, Andrew Sheffield, Luke Sylvester, Sean Tiernan, Roan Trundle, and Jack Tully.

Our next game takes place next Wednesday 15th away to Tubberclair in the Tormey's Tournament at 7pm

U-14 Division 1 Championship

St. Brigid's 3-14, Strokestown 2-2.

Our division 1 u14s defeated Strokestown by 3-15 to 2-2 in the Championship last Wednesday in Strokestown.

Team: L. O'Rourke, L. Egan, D. Murray, F.  Kennedy, S.  Trundle, R. Dolan 0-1, L. Griselain 0-1, C. Quinn 0-2, S. Cunnane 0-6, A. Lennon 2-2, E. Derwin 0-1, D. McDermott 0-1, C. Canny 0-1, R. Fallon 0-1, S. Kelly 1-0.
