Tansey Cup

Our Junior side came out victorious by a single point following their trip to Rooskey on Saturday evening last. This was a great game of football by both teams and Brigid's never say die attitude paid off for them going from 5 points down in injury time to winning by a point. At half time the score was 1-7 to 1-5 to Kilglass with everything to play for both teams fought hard. It looked like it was all over for Brigids when Kilglass went 5 points up and only injury time to played but a Davy Cunniffe injury time goal got us back within two points and following the kick out Brigids were back in the around the square again after some confusion the referee awarded a fourteen yard free to Brigids and somehow Cormac Sheehy managed to find a gap in the Kilglass filled goal to bury a goal and leave us one point up with no time left.

This game was a great game and an excellent team performance, well done lads.

Team: G. Reynolds, B. Glancy, K. Dolan, K. Grehan, J. Grehan, I. Monaghan. C. Healy, G. Mulligan 0-1, M. Daly, G. Dunning 0-2, D. Blaine 0-3, C. McDonnell 0-2, N. Quinn 1-1, C. Sheehy 1-5, D. Cunniffe 1-0.

Subs: N. Carroll, N. McDonnell.
