St. Brigid's GAA Club Notes 18th August 2013   


Family Fun Day and Evening at the Races

Thank you to everyone that attended the family fun day and evening at the races. It was a very successful day for all. Also thank you to everyone that purchased a horse or sponsored a race. Your support is greatly appreciated.


Senior Championship

St. Brigid's 1-12, St. Faithleach’s 1-11.

Our Hodson Bay Hotel sponsored senior team had a one point victory over St.Faithleach’s in the county quarter final on Saturday evening last in the Hyde. They will now face neighbours Clann na Gael in the county semi final in September.

St Brigid’s Ladies   



Training continues for all grades from U8s to Senior. Players will be notified of any changes to normal training times. We are always welcoming new members and parents are especially welcome to get involved. Training schedules or further information on St. Brigids Ladies GAA email or phone 086 0876933.

Training for Senior and Minor Ladies continues on Wednesday evenings and Friday evenings at 8.00 at pitch. Training for U12 and U14 girls continueson Tuesday evening at 7:00 at pitch. Training for U8s & U10s continues on Wednesday evening at 7:00 at pitch.      


Gaelic for Mothers and Others      

Any ladies aged over 18 years interested in a bit of light, fun training with a bit of a kick about afterwards, nothing too strenuous, exercise, fun and a laugh. Training continues every Thursday from 7.30-8.30, come for the craic.

U-16s: The Derek Duggan Travel sponsored U-16s are scheduled to play in the championship semi-final on Tuesday, August 27th next. They await the winners of Roscommon Gaels v Kilmore/Shannon Gaels. The league game against Clann na nGael has been refixed for this Friday, August 23rd, at 7 pm in Kiltoom.

U-14s: The D & M O'Grady Builders sponsored U-14 team were originally scheduled to play Roscommon Gaels in the championship semi-final on Thursday next, August 22nd. The semi-final date has now been changed to Tuesday, August 27th at 6.45pm.Venue to be confirmed.

U-12s: The summer league for the Millmount Maintenance Services sponsored U-12s will recommence, week ending Friday 30th and/or Saturday 31st August.

U-10s: The Sheraton Hotel sponsored U-10s will face Athlone in Athlone in the next round of the Clann na nGael tournament this Wednesday, August 21st at 6.30pm. The next round will be against Padraig Pearses the following Monday, August 26th at 7 pm in Kiltoom. A coaching camp will take place next Saturday, August 24th, from 10-1pm. Players will be notified of full details in due course.

U-8s: The U-8s and their coaches will be visiting Croke Park this Saturday, August 24th for an official tour of the stadium.

Croke Park Visits: A series of Croke Park tours are being organised for all underage squads. The trips will be subsidised by the club and will consist of a tour of the stadium and museum (which includes a St Brigid’s section) followed by a meal. The U-8s and U-10s have been booked in for tours on August 24th and the 31st respectively while the U-12s will be visiting the Croke Park museum before attending the Roscommon minor semi-final game, along with the U-14s and U-16s, on September 1st. Parents will be notified of full details in due course.
